Household Chemical Waste Disposal Days

          The Mercer County Improvement Authority sponsors a "Household Chemical Waste Disposal Day" for residents of Mercer County only.  Proof of Mercer County residency is required (driver's license).  They accept Residential Waste Only.  No waste from Commercial or Industrial Sources!

          There are two disposal days each year.  The last disposal day  was held at John T. Dempster Fire School on Bakers Basin/Lawrence Station Road in Lawrence Township, from 8:00am - 2:00pm.  This is generally the same time and place every time.  As soon as next year's schedule is drawn up, this page will be updated.

Pool Chemicals

Paint Thinner
Oil Based Paint

What NOT to Bring:

Latex Paint
Silvex
Unknowns
Infectious Waste
Radioactive Materials
Explosives
Munitions
Agent Orange 2, 5, 5-T or Dioxin

(Latex Paint is non-hazardous.  It may be properly disposed of in household trash if it has dried out completely)

Burlington County Household Hazardous Waste Facility

          The Burlington County Household Hazardous Waste Facility is willing to accept materials from Mercer County residents on a fee basis.  This will provide our residents access to hazardous waste disposal between the two county-sponsored collection days.

          If you are unable or unwilling to wait for the next Household Waste Disposal day, contact Alan Winn at (609) 499-5200.  Click here for a price list.  The Burlington County Household Hazardous Waste Facility will take everything except explosives and radioactive materials.
