Mercer County Court House
|
The Project calls for the construction of approximately 141,000 square feet of new multi-story court room/office space adjacent to the existing Mercer County Criminal Court House located at 209 South Broad Street in Trenton, New Jersey. This Project is being designed to achieve LEED Certification.
The building is a four story, steel framed structure with an exterior skin of masonry and metal/glass-clad design. The ground floor is dedicated to public functions, including Probation, Intake/Community Service Unit, Probation Drug Court and Criminal Case Management Records. The first and second floors are dedicated to eight courtrooms with prisoner-on-floor holding areas and judges chambers. The third floor is dedicated to Court Administration, Assignments Judge's Chambers, Case Management, Grand Jury Suite and Special Proceedings Courtroom. The Special Proceedings Courtroom is dedicated to be utilized for high profile cases and special events. |

Trenton Daylight Twilight School |

The project was developed in conjunction with the Trenton Board of Education, the Improvement Authority and the then New Jersey Schools Construction Corporation as a Demonstration Project under the NJSCC School Construction Financing Act.
The facility consists of 92,000 square foot of new and refurbished construction, including the rehabilitation of two existing structures, with a total cost of $39.9 Million. The cost includes predevelopment, preconstruction and land acquisition costs. It provides educational facilities for almost 1,000 students who have previously dropped out of high school for various reasons and now wish to pursue their high school diploma.
The project was nominated as a Building of America project and was featured in Real Estate & Construction Review-2009 New York, Philadelphia and Delaware Valley Edition as one of the region's most important, innovative or unique new construction and renovation projects. |

Sovereign Bank Arena |
|
| The Sovereign Bank Arena was built as an urban redevelopment project in the City of Trenton. The Authority acted as the Redevelopment Entity in facilitating and ultimately completing the project in conjunction with a local Developer. The 8,500 seat arena has played host to many high profile acts such as Elton John, Shania Twain, Kiss, Harlem Globetrotters, Ringling Brothers Circus and many other family, concert and sporting events. In addition, the arena plays host to the Trenton Devils of the East Coast Hockey League. Over 500,000 patrons each year pass through the arena's turnstiles. |

| In conjunction with the Mercer County Park Commission, the Authority managed the design and construction of a new 9,000 square foot clubhouse that includes a pro shop, lockers for men and women, a full service kitchen and banquet facility that can accommodate up to 120 people, an outdoor seating area, bar and cart storage area. The project cost for the new facility was $3.8 million. The Authority provided construction management services and coordinated the activities of all contractors in completing the work within the project schedule. The project was honored by Golf Inc. as the "Daily Fee Clubhouse of the Year" for 2008. |
