THE MERCER COUNTY IMPROVEMENT AUTHORITY
HAS JOINED  THE RECHARGEABLE BATTERY RECYCLING
CORPORATION PROGRAM

The Mercer County Improvement Authority will be entering into the Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation’s program announced by Steve Dixon, Executive Director of the Mercer County Improvement Authority. The Authority has always collected rechargeable batteries at their semi-annual Household Hazardous Clean-up events.

He also announced the Authority will be collecting the rechargeable batteries at their Fall Household Chemical Waste Disposal Day, Saturday, September 20th at the Dempster Fire School, in Lawrence.  The Authority will now begin collecting rechargeable batteries at their offices located at the McDade Administration Building, 640 South Broad Street, 3rd floor, in Trenton.  Mercer County residents can also log on to the  MCIA’s website, (www.mcia-nj.com) for a listing of area retail drop-off location partners in the Mercer County area.

Household alkaline batteries will still be collected curbside.  Residents are to place their household batteries in a zip-lock bag and place them in their yellow buckets for recycling.  The green stickers that were placed on the zip-lock bags are no longer required.

If you have any questions regarding recycling you can call 609-278-8086 or visit the Authority’s website.
